The capabilities of our nation’s Search and Rescue (SAR) capabilities are continuously evolving continuously evolving and facing the myriad challenges involved in operating in a modern joint environment.. In conjunction to a new military environment, the DoD has been tapped to fully support Civil & Homeland SAR efforts. It is critical that SAR organizations be provided with the training and equipment necessary for them to successfully conduct joint operations.

The JSAR community has urgent need to establish effective cooperation standards between organizations and to develop adopt technology that can meet rapidly evolving requirements. IDGA’s JSAR 2012 will provide organizations with exposure to the experts that will enhance cooperation between and within segments of the SAR community. The presence of organizations across the entire SAR spectrum ensures that the "Joint" component of JSAR is truly addressed. This conference will work to bring together people that can speak not only to the challenges specific segments of JSAR, but to those raised by the need to cooperate between those segments. Effectively conducting Joint operations is the key issue and this time will be a main focus.
